About Matty
Introducing Matty Wong, a native of Oahu who was raised on the island. After graduating from Hawaii Pacific University with a degree in Psychology, he spent numerous years working in higher education, where he closely collaborated with students and families in navigating the admissions process. His responsibilities ranged from providing guidance on the application process and financial aid package to ensuring a smooth transition into their first day of school.
Matty's desire to help others didn't stop there. In 2015, he obtained his real estate license, where he took his previous experience as Assistant Director of Admissions and applied it to helping families navigate their journey to homeownership. He founded Team Alaka'i in 2018, which translates to "leader or guide" in Hawaiian, with a vision of embodying the importance of empowering families through education. Since then, Matty and his team have helped hundreds of families on their path to homeownership, operating on both Oahu and the Big Island. They work with a variety of clients, from first-time homebuyers to experienced investors, and welcome all families looking for guidance.
But Matty's impact extends far beyond the realm of real estate. He also runs his family's driving school, Wong Way Driving Academy, and is an accomplished musician who actively performs at private events and on social media platforms. When he's not working or making music, Matty is deeply involved in his community. He serves as the Past President of the Rotary Club of West Honolulu and plays an active role in the Youth Services and Community Service sectors.
